High Voltage Battery Technician

EV Hub AS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented High Voltage Battery Technician to join our skilled team of battery engineers. As a vital part of our mission to revolutionise the electric vehicle industry with innovative and sustainable solutions, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our high-voltage batteries for PHEV/HEV and EV cars. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in repairing and remanufacturing high-voltage batteries for PHEV/HEV and EV vehicles, ensuring top-quality standards and optimal performance.
  • Support root cause analysis for failed batteries from field returns and validation testing, including methodical teardown and inspections.
  • Help maintain lab-scale assembly equipment and ensure all tools are calibrated and functional.
  • Assist in battery R&D on newer car models, including instrumentation and testing.
  • Provide detailed documentation during builds, tests, and inspections.
  • Help maintain the battery fleet, including safe charging/discharging, instrumentation, and recycling of full battery packs as required.
  • Adhere to and uphold the highest safety standards within the work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of engineers and technicians to streamline the battery repair process.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical repair, preferably within the automotive or EV industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, especially relating to high-voltage battery systems.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment for fault detection and analysis.
  • Preferred: Valid High Voltage training certificate from an OEM or demonstrated working knowledge of battery-powered systems.
  • Mechanical fabrication skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge in the use of standard electronics lab tools including AC/DC meters, oscilloscopes, and AC/DC power supplies.
  • Methodical and diligent work ethic with a strong sense of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and following through on tasks.
  • Excellent documentation and written communication skills; proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis and reliability testing methods is a plus.
  • Strong command of the English/Norwegian language, both written and verbal.
