Responsibilities:

  • Directly involved in the Drive Units repair process.
  • Repair and remanufacture faulty drive units for electric vehicles, ensuring top-quality standards and optimal performance.
  • Develop and execute accelerated test methods to uncover failure modes and improve reliability.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a team, contributing to the drive unit repair process and learning from senior technicians.
  • Identify and collaborate with reliable external suppliers for specialised components and repair equipment.
  • Assist with research and development of new repair methods using reverse engineering principles under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the repair and remanufacturing process.
  • Uphold the highest safety standards within the work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical repair, preferably within the automotive or EV industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, especially relating to drive units and rotating machinery.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for fault detection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of reliability growth techniques and reliability prediction methods.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A passion for learning and a willingness to grow within the electric vehicle industry.
  • A valid High Voltage training certificate is a plus, but not mandatory.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with mechanical reliability of complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Solid knowledge of material properties and failure mechanisms for gearboxes, bearings, and other rotary machinery.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and test development for mechanical shock and vibration.
  • Familiarity with reliability software platforms and statistical software.
  • Experience with large data sets and data analytics tools.
