Senior EV Diagnostic Specialist, EV HUB Lab

Join EV HUB Lab: where the best minds meet the toughest challenges.
EV HUB Lab is the R&D and innovation centre of EV HUB, a Norwegian technology company, majority-owned by the Swedish automotive group KGK AB, working with customers and partners across Europe. We bring engineers, technicians and technical minds together to solve some of the hardest problems in electric vehicles.
We do more than repair existing products. We develop new technologies, build new products and solve complex technical problems. Then we turn that knowledge into repeatable processes, technologies and products that scale, at home and internationally. Each solution should work every time, for every unit, not just once.
Our new 3,300 m² facility in Hagan, north of Oslo, brings R&D, engineering, testing and industrial remanufacturing together under one roof, from the first teardown to the finished product.
You get the freedom, responsibility and room to build something extraordinary, and to shape the future of the company and the automotive aftermarket. We look for curious, ambitious people who take ownership, share knowledge and challenge each other, and who never accept that something cannot be repaired or improved. Our ambition is to build one of the most exciting engineering environments in the European automotive aftermarket, where good ideas become real products.
The role
As a Senior EV Diagnostic Specialist, you are our EV diagnostics expert: you take a fault from symptom to root cause on the whole car, across brands: HV system, charging, thermal management and BMS behaviour. You work on vehicles (partner and warranty cases, and our own R&D vehicles) and on the parts that come back to us, and you turn what you find into diagnostic procedures, documentation and tools that the rest of the team can use.
This is a senior, hands-on role with a lot of freedom. Multi-brand diagnostics is where EV HUB is heading, and you will shape how we get there. It is an opportunity for significant technical growth and to build new solutions from the ground up.
We look broadly. We are building one engineering team around skills, not job titles. This ad describes the gap we most need to fill, but nobody ticks every box and we do not expect you to. If you bring real depth in one area and working knowledge of others (mechanics and rebuild, vehicle diagnostics, vehicle communication and diagnostic software, power electronics, embedded hardware and firmware, HV batteries, test and measurement, NVH, process, quality and reliability, HV safety), we want to hear from you.
Immersion onboarding. Every EV HUB Lab role starts hands-on and grows into engineering: you first spend time in production on the products we repair. For a senior diagnostics specialist this is short, and you move into engineering work quickly.
What you will do
- Diagnose HV, charging, thermal and BMS faults across brands, on vehicles (partner and warranty cases, and our own R&D vehicles) and on returned parts.
- Read and interpret DTCs, live data, BMS data and electrical measurements.
- Run vehicle tests and validate repairs on the vehicle.
- Code and program control units across brands, and validate the result on the vehicle.
- Turn findings into diagnostic procedures, repair instructions and input for our diagnostic software.
- Work with communication, electronics and mechanical engineers in project squads.
What you bring
- 5+ years of hands-on fault finding on electric and hybrid vehicles, as a master technician, diagnostics engineer or similar.
- Expert use of OEM and aftermarket diagnostic tools, including coding and programming of control units across brands.
- Solid understanding of EV systems: HV battery and BMS, charging, thermal management, power electronics and drive.
- Confident electrical measurement and testing on HV and 12 V systems.
- A structured way of testing and investigating: you isolate the cause and prove the fix.
- Clear technical documentation: you write up a fault and its fix so that others can repeat it.
- HV safety qualification for work on electric vehicles, or the will to get it quickly (training provided).
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Valid driving licence (class B)
- You must be eligible to work in Norway. For the right profile, we support the work permit application.
Nice to have
- Master certificate (mesterbrev) or an engineering degree.
- Experience across many EV brands.
- Experience with warranty or technical support cases for a manufacturer, importer or workshop network.
